Shawnee Extra is a news program dedicated to bringing the Lenape Regional High School District's viewing audience news and information about Shawnee High School. The program originated under the direction of Mr. Bob Ritter in the mid 80s as Shawnee Update. It continued for a number of years until his retirement in the late 90s. During the 2001-2002 school year, the program was brought back under its new name of "Shawnee Extra."
The program is produced by the students of Shawnee's Communication Technology II class. Finished editions of Shawnee Extra air on the Lenape District Television. In addition to creating programming for Shawnee Extra, the CT II students also produce segments for the Renegade Morning Show and help film school events that run locally throughout Shawnee on Channel 2.
